I got a digital camera for Christmas, and I want to experiment with shooting some nude photos of myself. My question is not based around the photography side, as I have quite a bit of exprience with a camera.

Where I am running into problems is with the poses. I have done some test shots, in my home made studio, and I am just not happy with my poses. I have tried a search on the web, and of course I get all the porn related stuff, and that is not what I am going for.
I am looking for more of the artistic side, more of the creative/expression side of things. Can anybody recommened a resource for male poses, or give some creative input?

PS. I am no body builder, so I am not looking for those types of poses either!

Have you had a look around Flickr.com? You might get some inspiration there.

Hey NN,
I have done two different photo sessions, and I still am not pleased with what I am seeing. You know 10 seconds might seem like a lot of time to set the camera and then get into a pose. But for some reason, it's just not coming together for me. Once the timer starts, the idea I had for a pose goes right out the window! LOL! I think most of the problem is I am still getting comfortable with the idea. So I will just keep working at it. If I could ever get some shots that I am happy with, I may post them.

Hey there skitz - if it's any help on the getting comfortable front, (from a complete novice [] )I take pictures with the idea that they are just for me, an experiment, an indulgent exploration or a playful game of narcissism if you like - when you're not so intent or serious on capturing an image it just seems to happen. Maybe try playing around with light rather than poses? Shadows on your skin or warm light from a lamp on some part of you until you start seeing effects and shots you like the look of. Good luck.

Hey 'Rain, I did go out to figleaf's blog, and found a real intersting link to a page that deal with nude "glamour" photography. Excellent ideas, and some great tips regarding just what you are talking about.
Now I just need to find the time to work on it! Yeah, I am doing this for fun, but I am such a perfectionist, that I am having trouble relaxing and letting it just "flow". I do believe that is why the photos are just not coming out like I want them to.
I do have some new ideas to try, when I can find the time to get back to it. Thanks again for the insights.

Mike, you absolutely right, 'Rain has done some beautiful work on her blog, not to mention great writing as well!
