My girl and I will have been dating for a year soon and I was wondering what anyone had done to make it a special day for their loved one. I had thought about recreating our first date but I am not sure if that would be good. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well you know your girl far better than any of us do but... Romance her for the whole evening would be my suggestion. Book a table at a restaurant you both like (or any other sort of eating place you both enjoy) somewhere quiet with nice music playing... Don't tell her where yoiu are going just ask her to be ready in and dressed in her best when you pick her up. After the meal a slow walk somewhere could be great (Depending on where you live and the weather!) then back to your place or hers (or are you living together?)

An alternative would be to book into a hotel for the night, again the wine and dine routine followed by retiring to a warm candle lit bedroom with a bottle of something fizzy and enjoying yourselves.

Or go off somewhere for a weekend break... my goodness I can think of dozens of things to do - just letting her know you have remembered will impress her no end.
