Take it slow, make sure he lets you control the movement. It can take time, but I've learned how to do it. I always had a gag reflex I thought I couldn't control, but with a patient partner I was able to learn how to do it.

Navywife, not that I know how to deep throat, but something I've heard of and Topless can attest to is getting your head and neck into the right position so that you've more or less got a deeper opening to work with. The standard head at 90 degrees to the neck doesn't make sense if you're trying to shove a hard tube shaped object down into the throat. The best position we've found (though it hasn't gone so far as deep throating) is to lay on your back and let your head hang over the side of your bed. Basically this lines up your throat and mouth to more of a straight line and should help open the entire passageway. Hope this helps and have some fun!
