We love the web site, especially the "Loving Couples Gallery". My husband and I are an attractive couple in our late 20's. We would very much like to have a series of photos like those in the loving couples gallery. We have tried taking our own pictures but we really need a profressional photographer. This is pur problem. How do we find a professional photographer that will photograph us? Thanks
Finding a professional photographer should the easy part. The hard part will be deciding whether you want to sign a release and have the photography done for free (or perhaps even get paid a modest amount), or pay the photographer his dayrate plus expenses and have the session as your own private keepsake. If you go this route, expect your session to cost between $1500-$3000 for a journeyman professional, or more if you want someone acclaimed.

Thanks for the inforamtion. The problem is locating a photographer in the midwest. I am sure that there are many people on either coast, but we are seraching closer to home. We contacted one local photographer who said that he doesn't do "that kind" of photography. We also posted an add in a local personals magazine but replies did not seem genuine or the responders wanted sex in return. Any suggestions?
I suppose the next question is where in the midwest? Even the most die-hard red state must have a city with a trendy art scene, yes?
Step one is to find good commercial photographers. Many may not even be listed (I never was and still am not). Try ad agencies or P.R./Marketing firms for recomendations. Keep an eye out for locally produced work you like. Once you've got names, ask to see a photographers book. Ask if they do fashion or glamour. If their book doesn't have single bare back or side view of an ass, s/he's probably not the right person. Many professional photographers will assume you're not willing to pay a professional rate, and will be cautiously disinterested. If you make it clear you're willing to pay a real rate, they will be far more receptive.

Well, we might be willing to help out here. If you're attractive and are willing to fly yourselves out to Southern California for a vacation, we might be willing to set you up with a photographer to do a shoot if we could use the pictures in our Loving Couples Galleries. We know plenty of good photographers out this way. Send a couple of pictures to us via e-mail (clothed is fine).
I have a nice Kodak Easy Share digital camera (5 MP). I'll do it for free.
...uh...do I have to be wearing pants?
I just got a great idea. How about if they post a couple of shots here and we can take a look at them? You know, just between us professionals. I have a good eye. I've been looking at this stuff since I was 10.

Midwest or not, most cities of any size will probably have more than one photographer who does boudior/glamour photography. You might start there either in the phone book or internet search. Another thought is if your city has an alternative newspaper, often times there are adult sections in them which might include photographers.

Depending on where you are in the Midwest, Garrison Steelle (of Church of Steelle ) is an awesome photographer and will be in the Midwest for several months.
Also, you might look at colleges around you and contact a photography professor saying you'd like a set of tasteful nude art pictures taken. It's fast becoming a favored side dish for professional photographers and the professor might be able to give you some referrals for the better students that are trustworthy.
Just an idea. ~Ang

I've been told that most large cities have websites where escorts advertise their services. Furthermore, I've heard that the pictures they post often have the photographer's name on them. Sometimes, it seems, photographers even advertise their services on such sites.
It's all hearsay, of course. But it might be helpful.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions. Initially we were searching for the wrong kind of photographer. We now have 2 leads. We will be meeting with one photographer this weekend. The other lead is through the University. Hopefully one will work out.
This will be our first experiece in front of the camera. If it works out, we make take up Freddy's offer to visit Southern Califiornia.
Thanks Again Sara and Mike

Just to keep everyone updated. We finally met with a phothographer who seemed to understand what we are after. We have scheduled a session for later in May. My husband and I are eagerly waiting for our time in front of the camera. I will post updates if anyone is interested.
