I want my wife to do a little trimming, its getting in the way when I go down. Should I just ask outright? And what should we do, would it be best to shave first and then maybe later move on to waxing, or would it be better for her to just wax right off the bat? What do you think Ladies? I need some help!

You'll find there are some differing opinions here on shaving vs waxing vs anything. A quick search will turn up a bunch of that so you can make the best decision for you guys. But, to the main point of your question, I wouldn't approach it by outright asking as that can be abrasive to a lot of people when it comes to personal hygene. An approach I personally like is to make it an activity. You choose whatever intro you like, such as watching a movie where the girl is trimmed, looking at sexy pics together, the topic of oral sex and trimming, etc, but then you suggest that you'd like to take the time to trim her up and then administer the best tongue lashing she's ever had. From there you can work up to fully shaving, waxing, etc, etc. I know from personal experience when I first mentioned to my wife (girlfriend at the time) that we could shave her up, she broke into tears because she didn't think anyone did that. Trust me, it can be a sensitive subject and most definitely will need some tact for the best approach. Good luck!

Eddy never had a huge mojo, so only a little trim was ever needed. One girlfriend I had before her, though, was hairier than Cousin It down there and I just couldn't go down on her without coming up gagging from hairs stuck in my throat (see "Curb Your Enthusiasm" season three - the Crazy Eyes Killa episode). Totally unacceptable. I ended up just confronting her about it, as my subtle hints weren't registering worth beans. It was embarassing for her to hear at first, but after getting a good dose of my oral skills after she mowed it down, she agreed it was the right decision.

We had a friend who would actually pull out a razor right then and there whenever he slept with a woman sporting too much fur coat. Ballsy, but effective.

Let me ask... Are you shaved? And does your wife go down on you? If you say "yes" to both of these, then it will be easy for you to broach the subject with her. As she is giving you oral sex, talk to her and ask "am I shaved down low enough for you?" or when you are going down on her, tell her how much you love her organic smell, but would she let you trim her down so that you could really show your talents. Go by steps as everyone previous had mentioned. Don't try to redesign her, just trim her down at first so that she can feel the difference and make the adjustments.

Well, I'm pretty well trimmed down, tried shaved look, but too much chaffing at work. My wife hasn't given me any oral sex yet, I would really love for her to try. So I don't know if she is aware of my grooming habits. I've went down on her a few times, that's why I want her trimmed I guess I'll just drop some hints and see how they are recieved.

We strted shaving when I got fed up of GG's hair between my teeth when I came up for air! I liked how she looked and went the same way. QWe ahev both shaved since. Waxing does a better job but means that you have to wait until the hair has regrown enough to attach to the wax and then go along to a beautician (I wanted to try home waxing but GG won't let me). I have a good shave once a week and a quickie over my lower belly once ot twice in between. Much more satisfactory for us.

We both waited until marriage, and we've only been married a short time. I'm constantly trying to make her more adventurous(sp?) Hopefully that will begin to change, we're both working out now so its helping to improve her body image.

it can be a very very touchy subject.. I know I was constantly concious of my cooch. No guy told me to shave or anything.. it was my own issues with myself. But after shaving I really came out down there, and felt more comfortable with it, and really proud of it actually. However I would never want to wax.. eek! to me thats scary.. I've done the leg waxing before and it didnt hurt too much.. but I decided to sort of try waxing my cooch.. so I went for just a little patch.. owie!! So I just shave (with the grain.. :P) and now that its down and there isnt much.. it doesnt take much to maintain.
The approach I would suggest is .. well I think perhaps putting the idea in her head. look at pictures.. talk about it.. such as "I wonder what that would feel like for a girl.. I know for myself, when I shave it feels like..-" and I would suggest giving her oppertunities to shave for herself. make sure there are razors available when you set up a bath for her or something. Dont forget to mention things like not going agaisnt the grain.. otherwise it wont be a good experience. Dont be pushy though.. if she doesnt pick up on this or just try for herself.. then I would say ask her if you could shave her...

For what it's worth I'd suggest running your fingers through her pubes when you're caressing her, that'll get rid of a strays, then use you fingers to part her flesh when you go down on her - give her plenty of love just the way she is before you go suggesting changes in format.

sounds like a good alternative to shaving.. but even taking some scissors and trimming it down would be good too.

Ok, my two cents. First, I am a waxing junkie. I think I first did it when my best friend showed me her clit piercing and I was like, "whoa, you shave?" and she said that she just liked the cleaner feeling and then discovered that it made sex incredible. She'd never waxed but I wasn't about to get something sharp near my pink parts, so we scheduled appts together. That was when I really started getting kinky and wanting to play with toys, actually. Which brings me to how to approach your gal. You do not want to go at it as a hygene/doing-it-for-YOUR-convenience issue. Who knew? Would you be interested in trying it out some night so see what all the fuss is about?" So if you approach it as you finding some neat trick that will enhance HER experience that you would support her trying, I think you will get farther. And for the record, you haven't had sex unti you've had bald sex - let me tell you. Just gliding around town feel awesome. If she's game, I'd reccomend a really close trim with an electric razor with a guard so she gets an idea of what a little hair removal feels like but doesn't get injured, which will kill the experiment right there. If she's groovy with that, tell her that you've heard (ok, from me, but what the hell) that waxing is an awesome way to go because you won't get nicked and it lasts a whole lot longer and you won't get yucky razor bumps.

Foggy is right on the moe-NAY. I always tell guys to start with, "Hey, in line at the market and read the funniest/most interesting/weirdest thing in Red Book..." or "I saw this (blank) on 'Real Sex' on HBO and..."

Use some humor and make it a low pressure discussion to at least open the door, then proceed through it in small stages. Maybe a light trim that you do with the beard trimmer.

If you are able to approach your wife on this oh so delicate subject then I just wanted to throw in a vote for the "Body Bare" shaver. I've recently tried professional waxing and while it did the trick I've decided that the Body Bare is just plain ol' easier on the budget and the beaver!
