Any tips? Have an appointment to get the big "V" and need to shave em first...let me know the trick here so I don't bleed to death! Smiler

Should you do it alone or with a woman's help?

Jingle balls, jingle balls, jingle all the way...

When I had the big V and was assigned the task of shaving, I trimmed all I could with the scissors, then sat in the bathtub with lots of soapy water, and I think it took over an hour to finish. You probably wont find many experts at this, but good luck. It's one of those experiences you will smile about, some day. If you seek the assistance of female hands, it might take much longer than an hour. And use protection!!! You are still fertile!

Greetings, OICU812:

Hmmm, I'm due for the "V" since for years we've been relying on the ol' pearl necklace method of birth control - Not incredibly reliable.

Anyway, shaving is not as scary as it would seem if you take your time... Sissors will do, but things will be much easier if you have a beard/hair trimmer to cut through the pant-afro - in fact, it'd almost be worth the $15-$20 bucks to buy one since you'll probably enjoy staying groomed and tidy once you experience it. For the shaving part, I prefer razors as I've ironically only ever cut myself using the "intimate" electric trimmers. Good for many things, but not your malebag!

After trimming the thicket, I usually do the shaving during a hot bath to get the sackle region relaxed and loosey-goosey. Coochy Cream is BY FAR the best for this, but whatever shave cream you use, slather it on your beans and let it steep for 2-3 minutes. Use a BRAND NEW razor!!! I really like the Gillette Mach3 battery-powered... Plus the vibrations can make the submarine surface!

Just take it slooooow and with a delicate touch pretend your scrotum is in a taffy-pull contest, grab/smear/pull/stretch the skin taught and *without applying pressure* shave in the direction of the growth. I don't tend to get razor bumps, so I'll also do a pass against the growth for an extra smooth, mirror-like finish.

The taint, puckered-starfish region gets more difficult since you can't really see while shaving, but if you go slow, apply virtually no pressure, and simply drag the razor, you can get the job done nic-free. Viola!!! Silky-smooth dirtstar!

This wasn't in your question, but since we're on the subject, and forgive this, getting the flagpole hair-free is really easy if you've... Uh... Raised your flag. Maybe that's where the powered, vibrating razor handle comes in handy?!? Just remember, shooting your gun in a bath is never a good idea, unless you like your bath with a shower/brillo-pad chaser!

Hope this helps!

D

P.S. I've never had any assistance, but I prefer it as a rather private chore...

My guy just shaved his last week and offers this three-step process:

1. Trim down with scissors.
2. Use an electric razor first.
3. Finish up with a brand new regular razor blade.

I must say, the results are very nice! Smooth like a baby's bottom! Smiler

Cheers!

I regulary shave my parts to keep them looking nice for GG.
Tools-
scissors- to trim the hair if you are working on a bush
shaving soap -I prefer my brush and soap that I used on my face but GG likes a tube of cream.
razor - dont use a normal gents face razor as they have sharp sides and can do damage. I use a ladies Gillette 'Venus Divine' as it has plastic protection over the ends of the blades.
Practice
Trim the hair as short as possible with the scissors.
wash as you would your face in the morning.
lather with cream or soap.
carefully use the razor as for the face. If necessary sit on the loo seat with plenty of light. Do not be afraid to pull your tackle about so that you are shaving taught skin and can see what you are doing.
After shaving wash off excess soap and apply a soft face type cream to the area. Do not use after shave!!!!
I now shave either once or twice a week, as necessary, whilst I am already in the bathroom shaving my face in the morning. A regular top up like this only takes a few minutes.
Both GG and I now shave our bits. GG keeps her mound shaved herself on a regular basis and calls in an expert, me, for the full treatment. Great fun and highly recommended.
My V was thirty years ago and done by a nurse with a cut throat razor - scary but she was pretty. My main problem was the usual male one.

I find that shaving in the shower is the best. First of all it lets the boys relax a bit and also lets the blade warm and the attached lubricant work better.
I also use a Gellette Venus handle on my Mach 3 blade. This increases the grip and control whether you are in the tub or shower.

I have shaved down there since my military days, lets just say it's damn hot in the persian gulf and you get rid of everything that might make it worse, i know guys who shaved their legs. anyway, a beard trimmer with guard is a must for the first time, then a hot shower lots of shaving cream and a steady hand, i do it every 3 days now, the wife loves it, and if you are on the hairy side, like i am, it is actually cooler. go figure.

Thanks to all for the great advice...leave it to F&E members to give me all the details on how to take care of my "member". Advice worked well, nice and smooth, the "V" is complete and still have blood left in my body. Probably will stay clean shaven just like many of you have suggested.

Thanks again for the help.

I have shaved for years now. I hate seeing guys in adult movies that look like they are growing an afro around there. I use an Oster moustache and beard trimmer to shave trim from the shaft up all the way to just about the belly button. I then shave the shaft and the boys with a Mach III Turbo. I shave every other day. I don't want any stubble to speak of. I also usually wear the ring all the time and I always go commando. It is the only way to fly.

Both Grump and I react to the creams even those said to be for sensitive areas. I would prefer to wax but the wait for the hair to grow long enough is plain uncomfortable and itchy so shaving it is. If you use a good razor like the Venus Divine there is little risk of cuts.

Whwn I had the big "V" is went and bought a ladies 2-n-1 trimmer by Conair, it cost under $15.00 and I picked it up at Wal-mart. It works pretty good, and have found that I like the look and feel of a smooth sack. There is no need to trim with scissors first, the trimmer will cut through a jungle, I know since I had the pleasure of trimming my partners forest. I would also suggest getting an extra battery if you think you are going to be running the trimmer more than about ten minutes. the frsher the battery the closer the shave I have found. Good Luck with the shave and the big "V".
