Just kind of wondering, I'm trying to think of a creative way to keep some sexy pics of Jill with me all the time, and I'm kind of paranoid about putting them in my phone or my ipod, you know if I happened to lose it.

Maybe it's not that big of a deal, but does anyone have any creative ideas to hide the sexy photos?

Not sure about the phone or ipod but on the pc you can zip (compress) the file with a password required to unzip it. Perhaps there is some similar utility in the other worlds?

Another thing you could do is change the file extension from .jpg to something else. example,
.hkz. Change it back when you feel like looking a her sweet form. Windows won't know what to open that extension with unless you tell it. Change it back to the made up extention when you want to obscure the pics again.
Can't help you with the phone or ipod, though.

In my case, work computers are military computers, making it a bad idea. I'm thinking pw protected files on my laptop and thumb drive, mostly.

I asked elsewhere and someone suggested slipping them into a really boring book. He said a book about ballistic coefficients, but that won't work for me, because three guys in my class are military snipers. Smiler

You could try setting up a secure website at home and connect to it remotely whenever you want to. The files are not on a military computer so you won't get issues from that. Of course they won't be RIGHT with you but if you can connect they are a click away.

Cooking Manual and hide it in the mess hall. Everyone knows cooks in the military don't look at them. Wink

I use a small freeware program called Remora USB Remora USB.

It uses 128-bit encryption and is portable. I take a few favorite "home movies" on business trips and such;-)

RemoraUSB is probably the most elegant solution suggested thus far, but unless I miss my guess, it may be obvious to anyone looking at the flash drive that there's stuff hidden on it. In a military setting, I imagine this might be a problem.

Password-protected ZIP files work well for appearing innocent, but note that some utilities will still show the filenames of the items contained within. If this concerns you, you can place the files within a folder inside the ZIP file. For extra security, put the zip file inside another zip file (make sure that the "outermost" zip file has a password on it).

For the truly paranoid, try TrueCrypt to encrypt a flash drive. Nobody will know that there is data being hidden on it, and even if they suspect, there is no way to prove it.

quote:
It is impossible to identify a TrueCrypt volume. Until decrypted, a TrueCrypt volume appears to consist of nothing more than random data (it does not contain any kind of "signature"). Therefore, it is impossible to prove that a file, a partition or a device is a TrueCrypt volume or that it has been encrypted.

Most likely overkill, but that depends on how many pictures you have, and how well you need to hide them, eh?
