I'm a who regularly shaves around my genitals, and have no problem doing this, but whats the best way to get rid of hair around my anus? I looked in to going to a salon to get waxed, but its a bit expensive to do regularly!

Are their electric body shavers that actually work? Is home waxing as painful as it sounds? Any other options?

I missed whether you were a man or woman, but I don't see how the topic would be any different for either. As I'm female, I'll give you my perspective.

In the past, I've gotten Brazillian waxed, which includes the hair around your anus. I've always had professionals do it, because it would take a lot of flexibility and bending to do it properly on your own, if it could be done properly at all. A person would have to grow a third arm, or be a Yoga pro. In this, I'd strongly recommend that you leave it to the professionals. As far as the expense, you'll only have to do it every 4-6 weeks or so, waxing lasts pretty long.

As for the pain of waxing, the ass is actually my favorite part, simply because it's a fairly quick area, and actually a lot less painful than you'd think. And the results can't be beat.

If you want to use a razor, it's hard to get in all the spots that a professional waxer would be able to get to, so even though you can do an okay job at it with a razor, for the results you're looking for, it won't really work well.

There are a couple of other hair removal and shaving threads out there too, so use the "find" function to search for them. There's a lot of good information out there!

I get rid of everything via my favorite neighborhood waxer. Love it, love it, however...I've had some trouble with the anus area. Namely, it is very sensitive and is prone to getting little tears from the waxing. Which leads to splitting and a little bleeding during "movements." It usually lasts a few days, as it is difficult to heal when the area gets "used" everyday, know what I mean? [Geez, I can't believe I actually wrote that!] I usually only take care of that area every third waxing or so.

Michie - I agree could not cope with every time... not because of pain but risk of tearing the very thin skin.

I am also a guy that likes the smooth look and feel. I get waxed every month or so and I have everything removed from my genitals including my ass. I agree with the earlier post about the ass being the easiest part. The front hurts a bunch but doing the back is downright pleasurable.
I had shaved my ass in the past but the nubs drove me crazy. Getting waxed in back grows the hair back so much softer that i don't feel nubby (if thats a word) at all.
I highly recommend it, in fact my wife has never played with my ass so much as since I have been waxing.

Do you go to a professional for your wax jobs or is it a home kit.

If it is a professional, how are you recieved when going in for the wax job? I have concidered it but am a bit nervous about the reaction in my local salon.

I think I found my local salon through an ad they ran in the local city magazine. I was way more nervous than they were when I made my appointment, in fact after going in for a gift certificate for my wife, I called on the phone to ask about male Brazilian waxing.
The shop was and is very professional and told me to make sure I let the hair grow out at least an 1/8" before I got waxed.
I recommend calling a few salons, they will tell you up front if they do guys or not. Make sure you ask about brazilian, you don't want to find out half way through the job that she won't do what you want done.......

I get whats known as a xxx Brazilian includes the butt and last time I had a little heart template which I will get done again for Valentines day hubby thought it was cute.
I think the butt area is the least painful and doesn't take long to do at all.
