About three years ago, my sweetheart went through the ravages of breast cancer. One of the upsides of her hair loss during the chemo was being hairless from head to toe. We both really liked it in her genital area (no, we're not some sicko - there were many times when she was feeling just fine). She also wears her head hair short and loves it - she never would have been brave enough to try that otherwise.

She wanted to get back to her being hairless where the sun don't shine - so to speak - she says it helps her feel sexy.

We bought the shaving kit recommended here, but she still breaks out from it and is still too bristly too quickly.

Has anyone found a good permanent or longer-term hair removal method? She's willing to go to one of these laser hair removal places. She was going to try the wax treatment at home and I told her I couldn't handle that.

Sounds like your best bet might be a professional Brazilian waxing. Smoother and longer lasting than shaving, cheaper than laser, and reversible. Any place that does legs, bikini, etc. should be able to help you.

A positive on the professional places is that they tend to be very discreet. Their employees usually know how to make a possibly embarrassing situation more enjoyable...

When setting up an appointment, just be sure to let them know you're looking for something more intimate than a typical wax.

brazillian is best
many laser places won't do the type os services you are looking for. I live in NY and have yet to find one that will. But I am still looking!
Good luck!

I have a very good accourement physician in the San Francisco Bay Area. Dr. Phillips is great - he is an obgyn as well as does accourement (hair removal surgery).

The place is called -- Women's Valley Health. It is in Pleasanton, CA -- the phone number is 925.734.6655.

I've been thinking about permenent hair removal down under as well. I have the body shaving kit which works great if you keep up the maintenance, but I understand the rashing issue as well. It happens to me when I don't stay on top of the upkeep every couple of days. Also from shaving ingrown hairs can cause issues as well regardless whether is wet or dry.

Ok, I saw this in the Drugstore when I was home visiting, and I think it DEFINITELY belongs on this site!! A VIBRATIING RAZOR for women!! Who ever thought this up is a genius!! I just about died laughing when I saw it sitting there!! My goodness, now that I've started shaving regularly "down south" thanks to this site, I can only imagine how the added benefit of a vibrating razor will enhance my shaving experience..

Interesting -- I think its a takeoff of the femme trimmer, which also vibrates when you use it simply because it is battery operated.

That is a little scary don't you think considering its a razor. -- I like my vibrating toys, but one with a blade -- eeek!

I have a hard enough time with the trimmer and the body shaver (lol)

This is the same thing as the M3 power that us guys have. The basic concept is the microvibrations help to lift the hair as it's being cut so you get a closer shave. I haven't tried it personally, but advertising is all over for them.

I guess I'll have to run down to longs and get one and try it out. Although I hate wet shaving. It always gives me a rash and then ingrown hairs.

I use the M3. I love it. Plus showering (and shaving) with someone is way more fun.

Menthol shaving cream can add the blast that refreshes too.

I love the way Buck smells and feels after he has shaven. He also uses the menthol gel.

Ugh. Get a room, you guys. And some lubricant. Ooh, ooh--and a video camera.
