Thanks for the info. It is nice to hear honest opinions. I like the idea of waxing and I used to do the epilady thing (the original) so I figure the pain I can handle. It is the actual doing I have a problem with. We'll see.

I'm told that lasering hair in "hormonal" areas (e.g. pubic, chin, armpits) is never a permenant solution, it'll grow back, just more slowly.

No way would I have my pubic hair lasered - waxing and shaving are one thing but someone pointing a laser gun down there, no way

Hurts is an understatement. That thing is excruciating! And I have a very high pain tolerance!!! (Oohh...just thinking about that thing brings tears to my eyes!)

Hi Qadesh. I get everything waxed off and I am not a teeny-tiny person either. I also have very coarse hair that grows back quickly. To keep myself bare, I only go to salons that specialize in waxing only. No hair, nails, or anything else. These kinds of salons do brazilian and complete removals pretty much daily, so to them, working down there is an everyday thing...probably kind of like a gynecologist. I just kind of went in with that attitude the first time and kept my insecurities to myself and it worked out fine - after the initial weirdness (which I probably felt alone) I became very comfortable. Well as comfortable as one can be while having hair ripped out by its roots in very sensitive areas.

But I love not having to deal with the regular upkeep of shaving..oh and with time I have noticed that my thick dark hair does not grow back in as much. In fact, my legs from the knees down hardly grow hair at all anymore due to the waxing. My yoni is already lighter in hair so I know in time I won't have much there either. And each time you go it gets less and less painful as the hair is weaker and there is less of it.

Where I am some of the salons have a wax that hardens and is removed by itself in a layer, without applying the cloth on top. I like that kind of waxing a lot better than the sticky one with the cloth.

Jem, it gets better with time ~ honest! You have to be careful what epiliator you buy. Mine has a 'training' attachment, a normal one and the one a use now ~ super fast! It also has a close shaver which also comes it useful.

I have tried everything, bar the laser and it has never been a success, I always end up with very irritated skin. Yeh, the epiliator is a bit extreme, but it is the best result I have had so far and no stubble trouble either!!!

Here I go again.

Since when is the chin a hormonal area, or am I just being dumb? I'm one of those poor souls with hair in every place a woman shouldn't have it and I HATE it with a passion. I mean jeez it is embarrassing. Why go to the expense of doing the laser thing, if it doesn't offer a permanent solution to some of the problems? Ugh! But enough of that.

Thanks Jem, that is good info. My salon does waxing, but I can see the advantages of going to a waxing only place. I'm trying to get over the potential personal embarrassment and knowing I will be spending this money on myself every 6 weeks or so. Not one of my better things, spending money on myself. But I'm tired of all my hairyness I want the coarse ugly buggers gone, at least most of them gone. Since my hair seems to sound like yours, I'm holding out hope that this situation can get better. Nother question, how long should your hair be before you go for the first time?

Here's a question. How would an epilator be used on a scrodom? I'm guessing with the loose skin NOT GOOD. Anyone have any suggestions?

Pain is all what you make it. I've never tried an epilator. I'm sure it hurts, but then again I like the pain. Eeker

I had my lip and chin done with electrolysis years ago. One of the best things I have ever done! I should have followed up with a few more appointments but didn't, so I have a few that still grow here and there...but maybe five or six that I just tweeze out. Someday I will go back. I don't have to bleach, wax, or nair there anymore and that is a huge relief.

As far as the waxing....I don't go faithfully every six weeks. It is a lot of money. I go every so often and then shave and body bare in between (grumbling at myself at how much I need to make an appointment to get waxed again). The hair should be relatively short when being waxed. Usually four or five days of growth is good for me....more is painful.

Thanks G. I had an older model and used it when I was in college so maybe they have gotten better. I don't know if I would try it again though.

I normally shave, and the Coochy cream works like a charm for me. I even use it on my underarms to prevent razor burn. I have been told that if you use a prolong cream (which is meant to slightly numb the most sensitive areas of your guys penis and keep him from climaxing as fast) on your areas right before waxing, it helps with the pain. If you are especially hairy in that region and shaving just doesn't last long enough, waxing with the prolong cream as an aid may be the way to go. Prolong also works for those of us who find it painful to pluck our eyebrows, and to numb the back of your throat for deep throat action without the gag reflex. Just make sure not to get it all over your tonuge or things could become a slobbery mess.
