Well, okay, maybe it's not new, but certainly new to me. At the recommendation of many friends, I tried using Magic Powder on my legs and kitty.

Boy, I was impressed! The kitty was smooth as a baby's butt, and NO razor bumps, and it didn't burn at all (not like Nair) when I was doing it. I think the whole process took about 10 minutes. It hasn't even itched at all, and I did it Sunday.

Just thought I would share. I know some women have a difficult time when it comes to going from hair to bare.

Magic is a depilatory powder (or cream) generally found in the 'ethnic' section of the haircare department.

Magic is usually touted to help African American males avoid the bumps they so often get when having to shave regularly. It's very popular among those that are in the military - they don't have to get no-shaving profiles when they use it.

I have read much of how wondrous it is supposed to be but just never got around to trying it. I have had such little luck with depilatories (anywhere on my body) that I couldn't justify trying 'just one more'.

Maybe we can hear more Magic stories? Anyone? I know it was the most popular suggestion for hair removal on another site.

Magic Powder can be found at most drugstores, Walmart, etc...and it marketed for ethnic beards. It comes in a can (get the one with the skin conditioners in it) and you mix it with water to make a paste. Slather the paste on, wait 5-8 minutes, and just wash off with warm water and a sponge (I used a body puff). I have really sensative skin, and after trying all kinds of stuff (with varied results), I have to say that this is the best thing I have tried...I don't know that I could go back to shaving again.

Just because it's available at Wal-Mart doesn't mean the company produces a crappy product. Take a deep breath, go read about the Snapper CEO again, and rejoice in your small victories.

That magic powder, is it the same as Magic Shave? I had a buddy in college (who was black) and he used it to shave his face. With a spoon substituting for a razor, if I recall correctly.

And where would we get this wonderous product in the UK?

It's EXACTLY Magic Shave, only they've pretty much cut off the Shave from their product name.

And yes, O Freddy-ous One... I will add that to the rules to spare your poor widdle eyes.

I just googled the product and found tons of people, both male and female, singing its accolades. I am I am real tempted to give it a try. If it works on my nether regions I may even give it a shot on my face.

I have to admit I am a bit aprehensive as I have very dry and sensitive skin so it will either work or I will have to hide in my house for a week.

Get the sensitive skin version - and I bet you'll like it. I have never heard anything bad about the product, and trust me - I've hear A LOT about it.

I suppose you have with your other half being in the forces. What surprises me is that I have been in for 20 years with out as much as a peep about this product.

Actually, most of what I've heard wasn't in the military until I started listening for it. I first heard about it on another website which shall remain nameless.

Then I started listening to guys in my unit. And heard more. I hadn't heard a peep before I tuned my ears into the right conversations.
