the new calculaton using the new "more relaxed" numbers were:

6.25 / 3.1425= 1.99...

I still advocate using the measurment in the most relaxed position available to you.

You could be my twin, but there's no way that I can tighten the tape to 6.25...maybe 7 or so. But as you did, you started off with a 2 1/8. I think I'll look for some rubber/silicon rings for fit. If something happens, it's easier to cut the softer material, than steel.
