When Ang texted me with the news this morning... I was shocked... I was speechless. The man damn near single handedly created the RPG genre... I've known who Gygax was since I was eight. He was the original Dungeon Master, and in my mind... shall always be the greatest.
How odd, I walked down into the basement yesterday and thumbed through a box of old first edition D&D stuff.
Think of the epic impact this man had on our generation. How many kids stayed out of trouble? How many kids found a little bit of peace while playing his games?
Peace be with you Mr. Gygax

I've been craving a good D&D campaign lately... either of my design or someone elses... and with the passing of Gary Gygax... it only makes that desire grow. What better way to honor the man? I would have given anything to have sat in on one game ran by him at one of the GenCons.
Oh to think of all those sunny days I spent in my friend's basement rolling that 20 sided dice.

Vorbis played D&D too as a teenager. I suggested to him that with all the people on this board that played D&D, they should set up a D&D game. His comment to that: "Everytime the f&e party would go into a dungeon, we'd all end up tied up."
