i never had to do this in the midwest, but i'm going to have to do it here with the poor soil conditions. anyone have any secret tips to pass on before i start framing them up this weekend?

i compost so much to add nutrients that i have a "mound" that is my garden. i need to frame it up (and line it with weed barrier next time) and just make a raised bed.

Remember as time goes on the weight of the soil will create pressure against the sides of the boxes. I had boxes around my deck (about 20 inches high) and after 10 yrs or so the dirt pushed the boxes apart. I would use screws or wrap them in a nylon band.
