I don't know about you all, but just wanted everyone to have a great holiday weekend no matter what you're doing and hope it's a good one either for relaxing, get togethers, or out of town excursions.

For many, it is a holiday weekend and a short work week. Regardless of what anybody is doing, be safe and have a great Thanksgiving. If anybody is interested in my ramblings, coherent or not about anything and everything, feel free to check out my page at www.motivatedsurvivor.spaces.live.com. More will follow.

Heading home this evening for the first time this semester tonight, and then a nice long weekend with Mummy and Daddy. The plans are to have traditional Thanksgiving dinner at home on Thursday, then watch the Fightin' Texas Aggies Beat The Hell Outta t.u. on Friday. I was so lucky to get off of work, since our EMS staffs the first aid stations and runs the ambulances at home football games. As much as I'm a die-hard fan and in love with first response, I really need the down time since I've been working insanely hard lately and have been rather sick. I guess all the 48-hour weekend shifts I've pulled lately paid off! I'm really excited to be going home, and even though it'll be just me and my parents, it's going to be awesome!

It is dinner at the in-laws on Thursday -- Alway a fun time (no really a fun time, I am not kidding, they are fun peope). Then on Friday it is wake up without alarms, "Refreshing the Mrs" (See "1776" for reference), breakfast (promised the kids pumpkin waffles), then off to Jersey to visit friends until Sunday. Oh yes -- eating until my brains fall out!

Y'all (or more appropriately All Y'all) have a great Thanksgiving -- for those outside the US -- Have a great weekend and remeber all y'all usually have more holidays then we slobs in the US.

I'll be heading to our commander's house, as they are hosting Thanksgiving and have invited all deployed spouses (myself included) and single airmen to join them. I won't be the only spouse there, so it won't be awkward. And, I'll be bringing a great pumpkin dessert bar, so my house will be smelling like the holiday nevertheless Wink

PM me if you'd like the recipe, it's not mine, but it is really delicious! Even if you're not a pumpkin fan, you'll like these.

And, of course, Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Smiler

We're doing a whole lotta nuthin'. We never travel on these big weekends, instead either hosting people or going to someone's house nearby. Family's great and all, but definitely NOT worth crowded airports, congested highways, and frazzled nerves.

I'm cooking a turkey for just us and two friends, kicking back with the football games, and chilling in preparation for the holiday shopping season to follow.

PS. Is it possible for both the Aggies AND Longhorns to lose? I HATE those teams! Mad

Aww, Freddy, be nice! I'm an Aggie and I'm not all bad, am I? Besides, regardless of who's playing, it's FOOTBALL! Real college football, not that NFL stuff. 'Tis the season for great gridiron action. Although I can relate to the desire for both teams to lose. I felt that in 2006 when USC played t.u. At least the A&M-t.u. game doesn't mean anything to anyone but us this year. But at the end of the day, it's all good.

yeah...i agree, and root for my beloved fighting illini to get a good bowl bid. we deserve a good one after going into ohio state and kicking their buckeye asses for them.

i'm cooking the typical midwestern thanksgiving dinner. turkey, oyster dressing, riced potatoes, giblet gravy, green beans. my wife does the prep work and cleanup, so it's a good deal all the way around. having her mother, her brother & SO, and a good friend over. football and food.....and maybe a little late night sexcapade!!

I did friggin' cartwheels over that one! Plus I have relatives in Illinois, so anytime they can stick it to Ohio it's all good.

Turkey is in the oven, pies to follow. One last trip to the market and we're all good.

Phoenix, that's great your unit is taking care of you. I know sometimes it seems like a token effort, but it really does add up in a positive way. My home unit has really good support in place for families.

Our weekend involved turkey on thursday, ham on friday, naps on every day, Bailey's after the kids are asleep, and plenty of sex. Wink We got a head start last night.
