of not smoking...a long 2 days ahead with the weekend and idle time. i'll have to get busy on some yard projects. for the time being i'm proud of myself....

Good for you!!! my BIL just quit too and he was going crazy for a while. he got a prescription for an anti anxiety drug that he says really helped too.

That's awesome, ajay! It's so hard, but so worth it. I've had friends who have quit, and that's what they've told me. Apparently the best part is being able to taste things better. Keep us updated!

day 9 and doing pretty good. i really don't think about it as much as i thought i would. we were at a private club that is exempt from the smoking laws here, and i really wasn't bothered by those smoking. i actually had a drink without needing to smoke, which was a good sign.....

had a drink, and no smoke?? that's usually the kicker.........

let me be the first to congratulate you on that. been smoking since the 80's........DAMN i need to give it up one of these days......

Congratulations! Hang in there...it's insanely tough to quit, but you just have to stay strong-willed. I haven't had one in years now. Still get the urge sometimes, but not enough to go back to it.

I quit smoking 12 years ago. Cold turkey. I would still think of it now and then. Especially when drinking. Smoking without drinking is like pooping without peeing.

I fell off just a couple of times and felt terribly sick afterward. Believe it or not, I think that made me just want it less.

I have tried tobacco hookahs a couple of times. I do like that. In fact I think you can appreciate an occasional flavored tobacco more now knowing you aren't in it for the nicotine.

When I gave up smoking I started excercising. It's amazing what you can do with more lung capacity.
