So yesterday the wife goes up for a nap and I decide to be a good hubby and do a grand romantic gesture.

I shower, shave and make myself peresentable.

She likes a nice fire in the fire place, so I clean up the front room, grab a comforter put it in front of the fireplace. Next I grab a nice candle light it up to get a nice scent in room.

I go over open the flue turn on the gas and start the fire.

So it's time to wake her up I'm going to grab a bottle of wine and some cheese I walk over to the fridge and then I sense that some thing is horribly wrong...

The flue was previously open and I closed it! The smoke is rolling back into the house. Before I can run back every smoke alarm in the house goes off. The wife bolts out of bed to a house filled with smoke and me in running around in my boxers. There's so much smoke we have to pull the smoke alarms off the house current and then pull the batteries.

We had a good laugh after the commotion died down.
