first of all I am a reading whore.

Last Book: rereading some C.S. Lewis
Current books: Sex in history, (rereading) Robert Jordans' Wheel of time series, some book on hitler, Age of Propaganda: the everyday use and abuse of Persuasion (pratkanis and Aroson), some romance novel, Edgar Allen Poe Collection, and Wilbur Smith Egyptian set ( I accidently read them in the wrong order).
Next books: Other then the the ones that are in a series that I will obviously continue, I want to reread this series (since I got the last book to the series), and some more romance novels, perhaps a few new books I bought ( cant remember the names) and I would eventually like to read that life of Pi book. I'm hoping I will get some for christmas
Audio Book (Book on CD/Tape): Phantom of the Opera ( I much prefer the book and the Phantom of manhatten as a book).

Last Book: Snow ~ Orhan Pamuk

Current Book: Antartica's forgotten Men ~ LB Quattermain

Next Book: Still unsure, on the look out!

Latest Audio Book: His Dark Materials ~ Phillip Pullman

Is it worrying that I can't actually remember if that is the last book I read? That I have 3 or 4 books on the go at various stages of completion? If you asked me what I had read this year I am not sure that I could answer accurately.

There is some definite cross pollination between myself and G of the literary rather than procreative persuasion, although a certain amount of the later bent has passed between us.

Smiler dont worry, I have at LEAST 7 books going at a time, and I dont know why, one day I might read a few chapters of book 3 and 7 and other days I will read from one book or all of them. I like being able to read what I feel like. Now when it comes to reading until 3 or 4 in the morning when you need to go to school or work, you should cut back. In my case my parents made me.

Heres 2 questions to add: WHat are your favortie genres?
and
what about your partner, do you swap books? or have very different tastes?

I like Fantasy, and historical fiction.. any fiction... though I enjoy a few out of those genre books.

Theo doesnt read too much, but he likes any sort of geeky book, and a few fantasy books. We are reading a historical fiction together..

What what the last book you read? The librarian in my is slightly embarassed to admit this...Memoirs of a Geisha. I forgot to bring anything else along on a x-country trip to NYC and needed a fast, easy read.

What is the current book you are reading? The Know-It-All : One Man's Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in the World by A.J. Jacobs. A man's quest to read every page of the Encyclopaedia Britannica. Another fun, fast read book for my second x-county trip to NYC last week. This book is HILARIOUS. Reads like a stand-up routine and it really quite interesting.

What book do you plan to read next (or in the future)? I have so many left on my shelf! Everything is Illuminated (Jonathan Safran Foer) or Fortress of Solitude (Jonathan Lethem) perhaps?

What was the last Audio Book (Book on CD/Tape) to which you listened? I actually listed to Stephen King's The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon while marching on the treadmill. I tried getting a CD of America's Best Short Stories to listen to on the treadmill but it was disasterous...I couldn't pay attention and walk at the same time so I had to get something that required less attention! D'oh!

Cheers!

- What what the last book you read?

"Living to Tell the Tale" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

- What is the current book you are reading?

Just about to wrap-up a Flannery O'Connor short story collection titled "Everything that Rises Must Converge"

- What book do you plan to read next (or in the future)?

Time to mellow-out. I have "Montezuma's Ferrari" by BS Levy on the burner.

What was the last Audio Book (Book on CD/Tape) to which you listened?

Interestingly (since Eleon recently read it), "Going Postal" by Terry Pratchett. I found it quite good - it was "Soul Music" by Pratchett that was the first I really liked a ton, though I'd listened to quite a few before I got to it.

-Favorite Genre

A little bit of everything. Yes, that's wishy-washy, but as I made my graduate minor English so I could read book after book after book for the fun of it, it is pretty much the truth...

-Partner taste - alike or dissimilar

We are about as dissimilar as can be. She likes Harlequin Blaze...and that's about all she reads nowadays even though she does have an English degree.

Last book - The Life You Imagine by Derek Jeter...good stuff on motivation, leadership, hard work, etc.

Current book - The World is Flat by Thomas Friedman...if you haven't read this it is a MUST read...amazing stuff about the future and how technology has made the world truly a "flat" place, meaning you can do business anywhere instantaniously.

For example, a 1/2 million US Tax Returns were completed in India last year and shipped back to the US....also, McDonald's is testing the centralization of drive-thru service - you order in your home town restaurant, you're actually talking to someone in Colorado, they take your order, a photo of you in your car is taken and your order and photo are shipped to the front to make your food - by the time you get to the window your order is ready, hot and accurate...these are just a couple examples of stuff that is really going on now and only going to get more advanced...you will be shocked.

Next book - not sure yet?

Last audio book - not into audio books, would rather read.

Happy reading...and have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Razzer
