"I disregard the proportions, the measures, the tempo of the ordinary world. I refuse to live in the ordinary world as ordinary women. To enter ordinary relationships. I want ecstasy. I am a neurotic -- in the sense that I live in my world. I will not adjust myself to the world. I am adjusted to myself." March 25, 1933 from Incest, Anais Nin.

I wondered how many were familiar with her writing, and if so, what's your favorite book.

Henry and June was on cable the other night. I never saw the movie but I had a girlfriend once that told me that movie influenced her experimentation with women.

I tried watching it with nostalgic remembrance of my time with her but I found this cable version must have been horribly edited because it was choppy and difficult to follow.

I thought of renting it from my local video store and guess what, they won't rent it because it is too racey.

Now with a challenge before me, I looked for it online only to discover this author Anais Nin. Henry and June was borne out of her diaries. Rather than rent the cinematic production (sorry Uma) I'm thinking of picking up the book.

Has anyone read her work?

Reading erotica (not Forum Letters) intrigues me.

If you haven't read her, is there anyone else you could recommend? I'm not looking for Danielle Steele romances (I'm sure those are pretty racey too). I'm looking for real well written erotica.
