Soooooooooooooooooooo... went and saw 300 when it opened. Seriously... the movie gave me wood. Friggen awesome. Love the hell out of it, but what do you expect from a typical "Fan-Boy". Frank Miller is a friggen GOD! Can't wait for Sin City 2

Saw Grindhouse. Two movies, simulating an old Hollywood "B" exploitation double feature. Here's a preview. Lots of fake intros, previews, etc., like this one for "Machete" (is that Cheech as the priest?). The kitschy stuff reminded me of the title sequences in Borat, those same nostalgic faux-1960s film effects, but with more of a cheap 1966 Americana feel. The Grindhouse fimmakers had a lot of fun with that and the audience does too. The trailers and ads are some of the best parts.

The main feature "Planet Terror" (Rodruigez) is all fast-paced violence, blood, guts, guns, explosions, and hot women in skimpy outfits. "Death Proof" (Tarantino) starts much more slowly, is all bar scenes, cars, drugs, blood, death, and hot women in skimpy outfits. As the movie progressed the ultra-liberal Cambridge audience couldn't stop laughing at some of the over-the-top gore, which makes me wonder a little, but hey I'm the guy who thought the "Running of the Jew" scene in Borat was weird.

The hot dance number by Rose McGowan in the opening scene of "Planet Terror" is the best scene in the film in my mind. She gets her leg gnawed off by zombies later but makes the best of it with some interesting prosthetics and a valiant attitude. Great role for her: funny, sexy, memorable.

I think that's the point.

I haven't been this entertained in a movie theater ever. i think i may have been born in the wrong age, old horror far surpass the stuff they pump out these days.

Speaking of a line that was crossed. did you see at the end of thanksgiving where the 'slasher' is standing in the corner fucking the turkey with the guys head on it? thats a new on by me. as for the trampoline i don't think that was too outrageous there have been plenty of movies that have gone there. maybe not to the extreme of her full out jumping onto it but its happened.

Oh well, Youtube just pulled all the Grindhouse fake trailers. Glad I got to see them before they did...

I'm a little bundle of excitement over the upcoming Spiderman 3 release... Venom is the shit, can't wait to see that fight.

im not one for superhero movies. but one coming out that has my interest, is the new fantastic four/silver surfer film.

anyone get into the silver one?

big fan of silver surfer, cant remember the story behind him my mom got rid of my comic collection when i was 8. she found some that she figured where a bit to mature for me so they all went.
