Sorry Freddy. We're the ones hogging the first Bourne movie from the video store. We saw the Bourne movies in reverse order, because of the same problem. All were really cool!

Don't listen to the critics - Speed Racer ROCKS! We just got back from seeing it and not only is it loads of fun, but the flick pays total homage to the original show in tons of cool ways (right down to the original Japanese theme song from the cartoon at the end). Go, go, GO Speed Racer, GOOOOOOO!!! Smiler

Neither K nor I are that familiar with Speed, but we both really enjoyed it. It's visually delicious. My only complaint is that the racing scenes are so fast that it made some of the drama seem extra slow. Still a very fun flick.

Just saw the new Indiana Jones flick and LOVED it! What a throwback, especially with the minimal use of digital effects (there are some, but most of the action consists of elaborate set pieces). Ford still looks great and they make light of his age enough to lend believability. It's great to see Karen Allen back as well. GO SEE IT!

I very much agree. I'm glad they waited and took time to make sure they had a good script. Sometimes the delivery felt a bit forced, but the timing and the script more than made up for it.

It's difficult to top the previous movies. I think they did a great job just to complement them. Keep in mind, I think that "Raiders" is the perfect movie, particularly the map room scene with no dialogue. The cinematography, directing, acting, music, suspense, overall effect is as good as moviemaking gets. I've spent the last two weekends watching the new DVD releases with the special features in anticipation of this weekend.

I've had a thing for Karen Allen for MANY years.

Cate Blanchett made me squirm with creepiness.

They pulled Shia Lebouf into a new age as well, really a big step away from the geek in Transformers.

Just got back from seeing the new Indiana Jones... and yet again... I agree. Was a great movie. I'm a fan of anything Indiana Jones. It was awesome, the interaction between characters... everything.

'Indiana Jones' scores 2nd-best Memorial Day weekend

'Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,' the fourth entry in the series, falls just short of the box-office record set last year by the latest in the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' franchise.

By Alex Pham, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
May 27, 2008

Indiana Jones may be a senior citizen, but the swashbuckling archaeologist can still dig up box-office gold.

Since opening Thursday, "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" has swept through theaters, collecting an estimated $311 million worldwide through Monday. In North America, the action film rang up $151 million over five days, snatching the second-largest box-office total for a Memorial Day weekend opening. It fell just $2 million shy of the record set last year by "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End."

"For bragging rights, the filmmakers may have wished it would have overtaken 'Pirates,' " media analyst Harold Vogel said. "But there's no denying that these are very impressive results."

We went to see "Iron Man" this afternoon and WOW, that a great movie! Robert Downey Jr. was totally awesome in the role and we loved the development of the whole character. True, we picked out the bad guy immediately, but so what.

We just saw "Kung Fu Panda" at an afternoon matinée. Thoroughly enjoyable, though predictable for the most part. Great for kids with just enough inside jokes for us.

I've got to admit I'm not a big Adam Sandler fan but the trailer for this one looks quite funny, so will probably go and see it.
