Okay, so you can't just go to a website and read these, but they're great books. She's writing two series, the Anita Blake one (she raises zombies, kills rogue vampires, and winds up dating some verrry interesting men. Good books. Lots of violence, and more sex with each successive one), and the Meredith Gentry one (she's unseelie sidhe, in a race to get pregnant in order to inherit the throne before her insane cousin does. Very very racy. Incredible writing. Exciting, dangerous, all that).

Anyway, something to look at. I actually buy her books in hardcover, as soon as they come out, and she's the only author I'll do that for. Well, except for Harry Potter, but that's at daughter's insistence, hehe.

Yeah, I read Charlaine Harris, too, she's got some good books. Never heard of the others (well, jk rowling, lol).

But agree on your view of Hamilton Big Grin. She's my favorite author in that field. Almost my favorite author period, but definitely in the top 3.

Can't say I've read Hamilton yet, but my lover is a big fan of her books...and after she gets her hands on a Hamilton book, it doesn't take long before she has her hands on me, so I have to say I like the effects of Hamilton's books!

Good Lord Demoana, how could I have missed this thread? I've been reading Laurell K Hamilton, since before Anita Blake came into existence. I'm a huge fan of her work. I even have a signed copy of Incubus Dreams. Danse Macabre comes out at the end of next month! Yippeee.

In addition to the authors Lustnforhim mentioned you also might try Sherrilyn Kenyon. She writes a number of series, Dark-Hunters a take on the vampire world with a little greek mythology thrown in, BAD about a CIA like agency with randy agents, Sex Camp about romance lit fans who get a chance to live out their favorite books on an exotic island. I've got a whole slew of other authors as well if you want more. Just let me know.

I'm new here and was just waiting awhile befor I brought up book choices, and then I found this thread. So Qadesh, I just started the Dark Hunter Series and was wondering does Kenyons writing get a bit better as the books go on? I thought Fantasy Lover was good but a bit slow. Since I have every one in that series I hope it does pick up.
Anybody here read Lora Leigh or Shiloh Walker?
Walkers "Hunters" Series is very, very HOT. If you like Vampires, Werewolves, and incredible sex scenes it is not to be missed.

SM, in what way? If you expect them to be straight erotica, then you will be disappointed. They aren't. But if you enjoy dark males, magic, some sex and complex storylines then yes they do get better. SK has a new one out the 30th, Dark Side of the Moon. But her books have big storyline arcs, some are within the books and some continue on from book to book. I hope you enjoy them, I sure do. If you end up enjoying them try JR Ward, she has Dark Lover and Lover Eternal with a new one out in Sept I think. I moderate and am a member of a number of reader groups so if you need something to read let me know.

Qadesh, has far as SKs' first in the series I just thought the story line was a bit repetitive and took a while to get where it was going. I was expecting vamps and I guess they tie in later. I do like her humor. I just picked up the JR Ward last week and thought maybe I'd dig into that and then go back to Dark Hunters Series. I am a voracious reader and have more new books stashed than I like to admit to Smiler I'd be interested in the readers groups you belong to if you want to PM me. I get into Kim Harrison, Katie MacAlister, PC Cast, Lyndsy Sands (for light & fun) and the alot of Elloras Cave for erotica. Just to name a few.

OK, I get you now. Yes, they do get better in that sense. I take Fantasy Lover out everytime I need a good cry, the ending always gets me. FL came into existence when she was having difficulties and was confined to the hospital during a difficult pregnancy and was feeling cursed. She thought what would it be like to be cursed and not be able to control anything about your life? Thus Julian was born. The basic DH storyline was created before that while she was in college. FL was the first one to get published and then the DH's got added to that world. Julian, Grace, Bill and Selena all make further appearances in the books. I think you will like them. I find I like them much better than Katie MacAlister. As for the Ward books, that is one great series, to bad there are only two of them.
