I didn't want to go off topic with the Products from the Past We Miss discussion, so I'll post this here. If you're into vintage travel art, I found some great examples at allposters.com (check out "travel" then "vintage"). I have no connection with the site. Just thought it was cool. (Also their framing user interface rocks.) For example here are some fun Pan Am posters:

This looks like it's near Freddy & Eddy:

Or this one from Hawaii:

Or these beautiful posters from the 1920s by Adolphe Cassandre (lots of examples on the web, or search the site above for "cassandre"):

(If you look at the full-size version, he does an amazing scale-thing with the seagulls against the hull of the ship.)

(Love the bird / airplane thing.)

If you're into pulp part, or just want insight into the Male Mind, I wanted to mention this book:

"How normal are YOUR sex needs?"

A few interior pages (these aren't the best, but they give you an idea):

Here is another site with more covers, etc.:

"25 Rugged Features"

"JAILBAIT RUNS WILD"

"CLIMAX"

"Tortured Slave of the Whip Goddesses"

"VODKA AND VICE".... "EATEN ALIVE BY KILLER PIGS"

Yep I am also fond of their books. This is a small one and definitely inexpensive. The only pity is that some (but very few) of the pics are printed between two pages, with the binding in the middle. But mostly they are not. I copied some for some art projects, they are so "sunny" and timeless. And very exoctic, at least for us! Smiler

Today I waswalking by a bookshop window when my eyes fell(almost literally) on a huge tome with a grand gorgeous watercoloured engraving of a an opuntia on the cover. I jumped in the shop to give look at the book, just a little look....

It was a complete reproduction, all the plates, page large and full colour, with historical and botanical notes of the famous 'Hortus Hystettensins'. LustLustLust!!!!

I was going to put it back directly, book like that can hardly cost less the 80 euros. No price on the cover. T said: "Well, ask!".

I asked, the bookseller read the code on the book and soberly said "I think the price will AMAZE you." I grimaced "Yes" I said, in a pained voice "I fear so."

The price was 19.99 euros. No need to say the book lays now safely in my living room.

The Book of Plants is from Taschen! Smiler
