There is a new "art film" out that is a must see: Persepolis

Persepolis is the true story of a girl growing up and coming of age in Iran under the Islamic Revolution.

It's an animated film and it is done in its own unique style.

I haven't seen a movie that was so moving in years. It is funny, dramatic, tragic and shows the triumph of the human spirit. Certainly eye opening, it makes you feel so sorry for those longing for freedom, trapped in a such a brutal system.

I recall watching a documentary about Iran and how it executes it's people in public. The story was of a young girl who was promiscuous and had an fling with a married man. I dont recall her age but I think she was under age. Rather than the man being charged with rape, she was hung to death in a public square, at the end of a mobile crane.

Seems like that's how things are done over there, kill em in public. We are so far ahead on the eveloutinary scale compared to that, we just give an injection and you go to sleep (reserved for those that deserve it of course)
