Hubby and i just went on a date and saw wedding crashers. If you have not seen it, run to the movies. I was almost embarassed at how hard i was laughing. Thank god my hubby laughs harder and louder than i do!
This is the weekend we finally catch this one - it's long overdue!

You know what? I have to agree with Cuervo. Wife and I rented expecting to be dazzled and...
(shoulder shrug).
SOOO not as good as "40 Year Old Virgin," which had tons of laughs, a cool cast of characters (the boss steals the movie), and great one-liners ("You know why you're gay?").
I wanted to laugh at Vaughan and Wilson, but I just couldn't get over that mean-spirited boyfriend character and I kept wishing they'd crash more weddings. I did like the twist of Vaughan falling in love, though, and the psycho girl who plays opposite him is priceless.

I have to side with Freddy and Quervo on this one, We rented it last weekend and got board. The same situations all the time. My mind shut off about the point the two went off to the family cottage for the weekend.
On the other hand, if you want to snuggle up and watch a great feel good movie. "Must love dogs" has to be the choice of the moment. Mrs NN equated it to "The Harry met Sally of the new milenia.

Hehe, 40 Year Old Virgin.... love that movie. Was watching it with the room mate and his friends, the waxing scene, they all just looked over at me and got really quiet.
OMG! Ranger, we both SOOOOO thought of YOU during that scene!

What can i say... I'm a fur bearing mammal. Hehe, me and the room mate actually sat here the other day, going back and forth doing the whole "You know why you're gay" bit.
ooo.. I really found that I didnt enjoy EITHER movies. there were some funny parts.. like in the 40 year old virgin.. the part about being gay.. that was funny.. but half way through the movie it went all after school special. blah. Plus because of the people I talk to online.. well the jokes were all old. I sort of expected it to push the envelope a little more. and there were things that they started.. but never finished.. and that bugged me. Ex. they started to make him over.. make him less creepy.. and they stopped half way through.
And wedding crashers was a huge disappointment also.. same old story with a different name. though the "virgin" girl who ends up being a crazy sexual girl... well that was a little more new.. but not really. I only really laughed when the balloon bike came into play.. otherwise it was lacking.

I have found in most cases, if everyone tells me how great a movie is, I'm usually disappointed when I finally see it.
We went to see Wedding Crashers the first Friday it opened. We both enjoyed it but would not put on our Top 10 list. Anything that is not a cartoon, has Spy Kids any number in the title, or involves Power Rangers, is to be savored...

We SOOOO know what you're saying about the kiddie fare, Silk. Was the last movie you saw "Hoodwinked" or "Narnia?" Betcha can't wait for "Ice Age II," eh? LOL
I hear you, Rena, the humor in "40 Year Old Virgin" definitely appealed to the older farts like me. However, that's not to say I don't enjoy the younger skewing flicks. In my mind, the funniest wedding movie ever is "American Wedding." Fuck that's funny stuff. The hair blowing all over the flowers almost caused me to die of suffocation I was laughing so hard.
While we're at it, what are some other wedding favorites that just made us laugh out loud? I know I loved "Muriel's Wedding," with Toni Collette. And, even though Julia Roberts makes me gag, I thought "My Best Friend's Wedding" totally rocked. There's one about a wedding in India that was pretty well received by the critics, but I can't remember its title.

Hoodwinked. His aftercare program took him to Narnia on MLK Day while he was out of school.
True story, a couple of weeks ago we had neighbors over and 8 adults were discussing the merits of the "Toy Soldiers" franchise versus "Sherk" franchise. I knew it was time to switch from wine to shots
