So I read the book and watched the movie. It's the kind of movie that's right up my alley, a deranged serial killer, lots of action.
In addition, the fact that it won best picture for this type of film is unheard of. But I must say that I was dissapointed. Neither the book nor the movie really did it for me. I can usually judge a good movie if I think about it the next day. I forgot this one as fast as I did I Am Legend. Does this movie justify a "best picture award"? (maybe Im missing something) |

I thought the flick was indicative of the weak field of nominees this year in general. I mean, the dude just walked around killing people the whole time and he gets Best Actor? Hmmmm...

Didn't Daniel Day Lewis win Best Actor for There Will be Blood? I want to see both of those movies.

I think you are right Bad. Javier barden got best supporting actor for his role as a ruthless killer associated with a drug ring.
I thought Tommy Lee Jones was more deserving of the Oscar in his role. |

Just saw this the other night...we both thought it was good, but were disappointed in the ending. Kind of like they just gave up. Neither of us read the book, so we didn't have it to compare.
