Stupid question but if you're bored and want to help, read on...

I was hoping to get an opinion from girls preferably, but guys too that have been in my situation. Basically I wanted to get a dildo of some sort for my girlfriend. I thought it would be fun for me to use on her and to watch her use. She has never had one before, but I think she will like it if I get one and used it on her. Anyway, I was just going to buy one and surprise her with it, but I ended up asking her about it to see if she had a prefrenence of what kind. She seemed kinda shy about it and pretty much left it at; if I wanted to get one she would try it. So she doesn't sound interested or interested enough to buy one anyway. My question is should I drop it or should I get one? And if you think I should, any suggestions on which one?

Also, girls...post a picture of your toy if you would. Either a link or a picture and say why you like it. Or even a picture of you using it if you're dareing . I don't expect that but any opionion will be appreciated. Thanks!

Anyway, from personal experience I can tell you this: my husband had the idea of buying a vibrator for me. I was not conservative or anything, but I was most definitely shy, and surely shyer than he was about sex, and I took the whole thing somewhat coldly at the beginning. It´s not that i disliked it, or that I disliked the way he suggested it. It just took some time for me to get used to the idea. I just had never considered a sex toy before (sounds incredible eh?). But he is sweet, and very communicative, we talked about it, he showed pics to me on the net, of various toys and the one he thougt was nicest, and I came to the shy but heartfelt conclusion, well, let´s try this thing!

So my suggestion is: she may very well be shy. That doesn´tmean she is hostile to the idea. Be patient and tactful, and may be try to involve her in the search. If you chose, chose something with a nice, quirky design, that will not intimidate her (I keep saying it: look up Fun Factory toys... they smile, they are as cute as teddy bears, bound to conquer even the most shy girl). Don´t rush things, let her have her own time if she needs it.

Anyway, I was all into getting her one but then when I asked her to get her opinion about it I felt I wanted it more than she did. Which I don't want. Even after showing her this I couldn't get a clear answer out of her. I just don't want her to agree to get it and then use it just because I brought it up. If I get a few more positive responses like you're I'll probably do it.

From the "get one and I'll try it" it sounds like she's just shy, but at least intrigued.

I'd suggest sitting on F&E's store and look at a bunch of pics with her. I'm sure it'll take a whole lot of encouragement from you to get her to loosen up and be comfortable giving opinions and talking about it from what you've said.

Be the encouraging one and click on a bunch of links, go to fun factory's site, and make a fun event of it. While she may be shy about it, don't write off going together to a nice shop. JSGirl and I go every once in a while and it's hilarious. We laugh at all the weird fetish stuff that we're not into, but also found that it was a nice way to break the ice to toys that we weren't sure of, but ended up adding to the list like anal toys.

First off, welcome to the site.
If you look through the review section, you'll find a lot of honest reviews about toys that have been tested by a couple, complete with pictures. We even have the Galan II that you've linked.

We'd rather not have people just posting random pictures of toys, as F&E provide just about every toy under the sun that is high quality and reasonably priced. As a result, we'd prefer you visit the review section as part of your exploration. If you have any questions about specific toys, we as a community would be glad to help you narrow down your choices.

I agree with Fraggle. I love the multi-speeds. Enough variety of intensity and vibration sequences to entertain for hours! And best of all, can be used on the clit and inserted. Fun both ways

I'm with Snowflake and j_s_g on this one. I think she is just being shy. I don't think I would have ever bought any toys if my boyfriend hadn't bought one for me first. I think my boyfriend had it right when he asked what kind of stimulation I liked rather than what kind of toy I wanted (I don't think the latter would have gotten him anywhere). Don't look at this as the one thing you ever buy. I agree that making it a fun, relaxed evening is key.

Ok...I'm going to make a suggestion that won't sound great at first, but stick with me.

I recommend getting something cheap at first. I got my first few toys at porn stores and got fairly cheap stuff. My first vibe was $20 or so. Why do I suggest this?

You need to find out what she likes before shelling out the big bucks. I bought clit vibes, dildos, regualr vibes, and g-spot vibes. I learned that using vibes inside does nothing for me. I only dig the clit vibes.

Once I figured that out, I went on Freddy and Eddy and bought nice, more pricey things that I knew I would enjoy. I'd have been pissed if I'd bought a $50 g-spot vibe and then hated it, you know? My point...buy "disposable" til you know what she likes, then splurge. Just my opinion.

I also highly recommend looking through the F&E website. Click on every section. Even the ones you're not quite into. It promotes conversation. just_some_guy and I discovered we're into anal toys. We'd never had talked about it if it weren't for looking at F&E together. Now we have a nice collection of high quality toys that we love.

But the worm and the red bullet are so excellent choices (my two favorites) and they are reasonably priced, so even if she doesn't like them now, she might like them later when she starts to relax more about introducing toys to your sex lives and you won't be out a ton of money. I would hold off on buying the Lelo or Iris as they are more expensive and you want to get something is somewhat "disposable" if she doesn't like them. But the worm and the bullet are VERY likeable!

I hated just buying random cheap toys from the local porn shop and that's how we ended up spending more money than we cared to count and ended up throwing away ton of crappy toys. Definately stick with F&E, even if you buy one of the cheaper items as they still are of good quality and the service is stellar!

Thanks everyone for your opinions. All the suggestions look like good possibilities, but some are a bit expensive to be getting something that I am unsure of. You're right just_a_girl about getting cheaper toys to find out what she liked. I did ask my gf that when we talked about it, but since she never had one she had no idea.

I think I've decided I'm going to get one eventually, it's just a matter of what to get now since there are thousdans to choose from. Anymore suggestions out there?
