am looking for personal lube for when the wife masterbates me and also solo time and thought about trying ky gel this time. have been using ky liquid but it seems to be too messy. are the gels the way to go and what would you recommend?
Generally around here, we suggest Sliquid because of its many admirable qualities. If it's just for masturbation, however, I would suggest getting yourself a jar of Stroke 29. Ranger used it all the time when he was overseas and it is pretty much without rival for masturbatory purposes.

I use ID Glide most of the time. It's a pretty average water-based lube. I also have some strawberry Astroglide which I have used some for oral sex.
I've played with some silicone lubes which have been really fun to use, but they're a pain to clean up. And you have to be careful about using it around some toys.
When using my butt plug I've usually used the Good Vibrations water-based gel lube. They changed the name at some point.. I think it's now called "Good Lubrications Gel" .. gel lubes are great for anal play because it is more likely to stay where you put it.

The wife and I use "Pjur Woman" (White bottle) bodyglide because it lasts a long time. The regular Pjur bodyglide (black bottle) is great for me and for toys, but I've been told it's not so great for women if they are prone to urinary tract infections. Astroglide is great if you live far from a sex shop (like we do) and run out of bodyglide.
I'm with Ang on this one. My guy and I love the Sliquid lubes. We have been using the Silver (black bottle) and it sure lasts a long time. I find it works great for hand jobs, but if it dries out a bit, just add a couple drops of water or extra lube and away you go. The only drawback is that you do have to be careful what you get it on, as it is difficult to wash off.
My guy also used Stroke 29 when I was traveling on business and got...good...results.
Cheers!

I'll pop right along with the recommendations for stroke 29 or sliquid silver for masturbation or hand jobs. However, as a caveat if you're using an utamaro, both of those choices won't mesh with the Utamaro so you'll need to go with a water based lube like Sliquid H20, or Silk which iirc is F&E's personal favorite. Silk is basically water based, but has a touch of the silicone properties added to it so it doesn't dry quite as quickly as the H20 formula.

Can't say more than Ranger already has except to chime in for Stroke 29 (never deploy without it) and Silver for when there is another person involved.

ABC's The View was just talking about other uses for Astroglide. It can be used to moisturize nails and smooth down fly-away hair. They also said that pole dancers use it for shaving. I don't have a pole, but I think I'll try it for shaving. It's got to be a lot safer than using Veet or Magic Powder, and I could go right from shaving to having fun!!!

I highly recommend Gun Oil for masturbation and hand jobs. It also lubes up penetration and glass girly toys very well. It's also a lot less expensive than Stroke 29
It's silicone-based and a little bit goes a VERY long way.
As a silicone lube it doesn't dry out. I used it to idly stroke along while the wife and I shared a movie together and barely needed to apply more throughout the whole two hours.
I find it barely needs clean-up and just leaves hands silky-soft once you wipe off any excess.

for someone who runs an online store, that is a very brave statement.
But..........I whole heartedly agree. A little dob of natures finest is all you need and the bottle never runs out!!!!!!!!!
For those moments of self reflection I have a bottle of baby oil gel next to the bed, and when Mrs Loaf needs it a bottle of Ann Summers Ride and Slide is close to hand. Find it drys out quite quickly though. Then along comes natures finest.
