Hello everyone,
I just wanted to bring up this topic that I recently became aware of. (I know ending a sentience with of is bad) Many of the jelly and cyberskin sex toys are constructed out of materials that contain phthalates. Phthalates unfortunately are very toxic and have been found to cause cancer and even birth defects. After I found this out my wife and I had to purge a very large portion of our toy collection. But luckily we've been able to replace our favorites with much higher quality silicon, glass, hard plastic and stainless steel toys. All of these can be completely sterilized after use and this adds to their safety. Heck, you can even toss them in the dishwasher or boil them and they won't break down. For more information about toxic sex toys, check out http://www.nottoopretty.org/ http://www.noharm.org/pvcDehp/issue http://www.chemicalbodyburden.org/ http://www.bluevinyl.org/ Here is a PDF to help you determine if your toys are toxic. http://www.greatsexgames.com/podcast/documents/toxictoys.pdf Also, we recorded a podcast where we discuss sex sex toys and sex toy safety at http://libsyn.com/media/sexisfun/smittenkitten.mp3 Enjoy |

There's an entire article about this on the F&E main site as well. I'd link it but I'm too tired.
