Thanks, I'm thinking I'll try something a little more ornate for the next one. Maybe a couple of different colored pieces of wood, ebony rings on the outside with an amboyna burl ring in the center. Also might try some acrylics.

remember whatever you use. some woods unless properly sealed can wreak havoc with skin alleriges and dematitis etc. for instance, im very suceptible to south american hibiscus woods. (rosewoods, this includes cocobolo)
i really like using ebony or hard maple for toys . they both take on a good polish and are highly durable. as late. ive been using a urethane oil finish for salad bowls. but also have used natural ones. good luck with your creativity! N. --= I Might be the Stig =-- |

For those with size questions, size of the ring that is, a leather ring with snaps is a great "starter" ring since you can try out different sizes with ease and at different times.

Just wanted to say thanks to everybody on this board. I just started wearing a ring a couple of weeks ago. I love it, I rarely take it off. I also got lucky. I ordered a titan from a company other the Freddy and Eddy because I thought I neede a 2" Turns out I needed a 1 7/8, but as luck would have it the company sent me the wrong thing they sent me 1 7/8, but they also sent an imperial instead of a titan. Got to say I love the weight of this thing. I've also ordered a titan for F&E so I can wait to see how it fits. Thanks for giving me the info I needed to take the step toward "thing bling"

Just popping in to say that after reading most of this thread, I took the plunge and bought an imperial from the Freddyandeddy.com store. Patiently awaiting it's arrival.
Before I bought it, I went to the local Adult toy store and bought a set of 3 metal rings for 5 bucks. After careful measuring, I still couldn't figure out what size I should get. Depending on how tight I pulled the string, the placement, and how 'warm' everything was, my range of measurements was from 6.5-8. After hearing everybody dropping down a size after measuring, I tried on the 1.75 inch on first. With a lot of lube, I was able to get the boys through (wasn't sure at first), and everything seemed fine, no pain, just an awareness that it was there. It was put to it's intended use, and it worked like it should, although while there was no pain or discoloring, it made everything seem detached, or like it wasn't a part of me. I later tried the 2 inch, and this I am able to easily get on with no lube, or delicate maneuvering. I wore it all day long, and it didn't fall off or anything, but I couldn't really tell it was there, unless I was sitting for extended periods of time. When put to it's intended use, it didn't seem as effective at trapping blood, and definitely didn't extend the time before I was done. Based on all that, I decided to get the 1 7/8 imperial ring. Does this seem like the right decision? Will the thickness of it change the fit that much? I wasn't able to find out the width of it anywhere. Also, I noticed after extended wear of the 2 inch ring, I had a little chaffing at the root of my penis. Not sure if it is because it was too tight, too loose so it rubbed there, or if it was because it was a cheap metal ring, and has a fairly large seam. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks for all the help you guys have put into this thread, you really put my mind at ease when it came to trying a metal ring. (Sorry for writing a book) |

Well, it finally arrived. Or rather, something arrived, but it wasn't what I ordered. I received a brushed metal Master cockring, not an imperial.
Would someone who has worn both describe the differences, in terms of weight, feel, and everything? I don't want to put this one on in case I decide to exchange it for what I ordered. |

Assuming you got the ring fro F & E even if you do try it on they will let you exchange

the master is one of the heaviest rings in the gear line.it's about 1/3 larger and heavier and is straight walled with radius's the imperial is less weight and the walls are more oval across the width of the ring.the imperial is in the middle of the road so to speak on weight and size with the master being near the heavier end along with the omega ring. the lighter rings are the titan series with the .04 being a good choice for a first time wearer.it's relatively cheap and lets you aquire a feel for the steel and then you can go up from there.the ring weights lightest to heaviest are the .2,.4,.6.titan,the imperial, the fury, master, and the omega being the heaviest.hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses.
I tried it on, and it's a tight fit, with lube and pressure needed to fit my penis through. Once on however, I loved the weight, but it pinched on the sides. The walls of the Master seemed a little to thick (from the inside diameter to the outside) and I wasn't able to slide it back as far as it should go, so I either need to lose 15 pounds today, or return it for a larger size. Would the curved sides of the Imperial make it fit looser than the straight sides of the Master? The 2" O-ring I have now seems a little large with plenty of room for 2 finger tips, and doesn't seem to do the job like it should, but the 1 7/8 Master felt tight, with me barely able to get a finger tip in between when limp, and causing slight discomfort when erect, due to the thickness of the walls. so now I don't know if I should get the 1 7/8 imperial like I originally ordered, or wait for F&E to get the 2' back in stock. Ugh, I think I am making this more difficult than it has to be. Freddy: Any idea when the 2' Imperial will be back in stock? This message has been edited. Last edited by: Empty_One, |

the imperial is not near as wide and not quite as thick inside to outside.because the width is less would not fit as tight. the straight wall rings in the wide widths fit the tightest and the round wall rings in the same size somewhat looser. i like them all but my favorite is the .4 titan.i am in between rings myself and the fit is somewhere between the 1 7/8 and the 2". although i have an 1 3/4 just for flacid wearing while out and about.

Newbie here -
Been having some issues maintaining an erection lately (going to see Dr next week to rule out any physical issues). Read about cockrings possibly being able to aid....or maybe I'll just end up with a bigger limp noodle! Just got a set of rubber cockrings the other day - 40mm (1.57"), 45mm (1.77"), and 50mm (1.97") to test. If they help (and my wife likes) I'd like to look at a metal ring. Regarding sizing, seems like the rubber ones will stretch a bit, so it is a bit deceiving to know what will work best in metal. When erect - The 50mm feels good dry (with cock and balls thru the ring)- 45mm felt just a bit tight. I also tried the 40mm just on the shaft, to the base of my penis and it felt good dry...seemed to help keep the blood where it needed to be! However, I also tried these lubed. In this case, the 50mm felt a bit too loose to provide any 'tension' - the 45mm felt good. The 40mm to the base of my shaft when lubed did nothing - too loose. So what would be a metal cockring suggestion as I assume the metal would not give as much as the rubber ones do? Maybe 1 3/4"? and 1 1/2? (I did manage to turn myself on while trying them out - haha...need to save that for my wife!) |

I would start with the 50mm in metal.
A broad, flat ring will be more restrictive than a narrow ring, but are prone to the occasional pinch when you move certain ways (you'll learn). That happens in extended-wear scenarios, not so much for play. An oval-shaped profile makes for a comfortable ring for extended wear, but will be slightly less restrictive for play. For starters, I would go with a 50mm ring with an oval or rounded profile. This is because metal rings are not easy to remove if you find them too restrictive. But if it isn't perfect for play, you'll find it fine for just wearing around. Based on the fit of that one you can decide how much more restriction you want. If quite a bit, then go for a size down. If just a bit, then go for a flatter, wider profile. You will find that wearing them casually gives you the sense that there is something down there, which can help out a faltering libido just by reminding you that you do indeed have something down there. I have several, and enjoy the differences between them. For everyday wear, my favourite is probably a large, heavy oval-profile one. For sex, I prefer my flat, wide one because I like the greater restriction. I'll probably get a smaller one (all mine are 50mm) just to try it out. Wish I could find something in the middle between 45 and 50 though. They are not easy to come by here and are a bit costly, so I'd hate to waste a lot of money on one I don't like at all. |

The trick is to measure your flacid size. There are plenty of links on this site including my own that will help you. Try the search function under Cock rings to help.
