OK, folks, I'm starting this thread to chronicle my 10 day cleanse. For the duration of this ordeal, I will subsist mainly on a mixture of lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne (sp?) pepper for nutrients, while each morning I will drink a quart of salt water to flush out my system (augmented by a nightly herbal tea meant to "move" things, if you catch my drift).

My main reason for "blogging" this adventure is to keep my will-power and get encouragement from you folks when I'm desparate for food or a few shoulders to cry on.

Anyway, tonight will be glass one of the tea, with tomorrow beginning the rest. Wish me luck!!!

Freddy, if you want to get things "moving" Topless highly recommends the tea called "Smooth Move" it's even chocolate flavored. As for the rest of the cleanse, man you Californians do some weird shit, but good luck none the less!

Yikes! That's a crazy cleanse diet, but good luck to you! Incidentally, lemon juice, honey and cayenne is what opera singers use to keep their vocal chords in top shape...

FEEE-gah-ROE!

Well, tonight was my last meal for a few days and boy, what a great way to exit food. We ate at La Veccia on Main Street, which is one of our favorite Italian places. Fresh baked bread, carpaccio insulada, pizza, and some of my wife's excellent pesto-topped linguini. Scrumptious.

Now, time to drink my herbal tea and get down to business.

Buck, tell Topless I saw that Smooth Move stuff and will probably get some tomorrow.

Bye bye, food, sniffle sniffle...

Freddy,

If you want the smooth move, I'm sure she'd be glad to send you the box we've got. LOL, one dose was plenty for her.

Morning one, and Jem is right on target. I can already see what the toughest part of this cleanse will be and it's NOT the lack of food. That I can deal with.

No, folks, the ordeal will be what happened this morning. I got up, made my QUART of salt water, and guzzled it down. BLEEECCHH! I wanted to puke with every gulp. How do people do this? Well, I got it down and started out the door with wifey and son to walk him to school. Well, barely 30 feet away from our house and I had to turn back to, uh, release. The cramping was unbearable and I spent the next hour within running distance of the bathroom.

Luckily, the salt water purge has subsided and now I'm doing better, drinking my lemon/maple/cayenne mixture and typing away. Our employee, Charu, is now on day 15 and still going strong, so I guess I shouldn't complain.

More soon.

Go careful on the salt water Freddy - too much and you can really screw your metabolism.

Have you checked out this site - were you up at 5am drinking your salt water?

Freddy, why not just go surfing every morning? That's got to be good for ingesting at least 1-2 quarts of salt water.

Thanks for the website referral, Grams. I must admit, though the ingestion of the salt water was difficult, the results were amazing - even for the first time. I feel quite lighter already and am starting to get excited about the rest of the process.

My one problem right now, though, is coming down off of caffiene. I drink LOTS of coffee and I'm expecting some pretty serious headaches and drowsiness soon as my body detoxes. I'm hoping this will only last a couple of days.

Alicia and I just took a nice walk in the warm sun to the beach, which was fab.

No, my wimpy wife is not joining me on the cleanse this time around. I'll try to get her next time after she sees how revitalized and "clean" I am after finishing my stint.

It's now been 27 hours since my last bite of real food and I've just taken the laxative tea before turning in. As Buck said, it's called Smooth Move, which I've heard can be anything but(t). Between that and the salt water flush awaiting me at 6am, I should be pretty well on my way to a cleansed intestine.

The weird thing is that I'm not hungry at all. No urge to eat whatsoever. The only thing I think about with regard to food, oddly enough, is microwave popcorn. I'm not hungry for it, but I do crave the taste of the extra butter kind.

Other than that, I managed to run a great baseball practice this afternoon and then had a decent workout at Golds following practice. Only nine days to go!
