“Autumn is a second spring where every leaf is a flower” – Albert Camus |
Find your local boy scout supply store. You will find several book on knots (Do not laugh -- I am serious! Who else do you know can build a robe bridge in a couple of hours and the tear it down quickly) You can also find them online.
You can also try http://www.tollesburysc.co.uk/Knots/Knots_gallery.htm or http://www.troop9.org/?s=knots/index. I use two half-hitches or a tauntline (See i told you i was serious). They hold up well to pulling and are easy to untie. ------------------------------ “Autumn burned brightly, a running flame through the mountains, a torch flung to the trees.” – Faith |

Thanks mjbarbag. I found that information useful. ... ...I... ...I... I'm afraid I did laugh at first.
I also would like to share something I managed to find online. http://www.rainbowrope.com/howto/rope_restraints.html I hope that people will find this useful too. |

Thanks Celtic,
I especially found the link to IWillKnot helpful. Step by step video clips are a big plus. Oh by the way, I don't have a special BDSM folder either. |

Oh yeah - and I'm working on getting through a book to review called Erotic Rope Bondage or something like that - it's by Jay Wiseman, who wrote another book I'm reading called BDSM 101.

Rope can be a hard one...to me i love rope, it is amazing. The smell, the texture, the ways it binds my body. It is really important not to just learn knots but to learn safety with it. You can easily cause nerve damage with rope. EASILY and also cause hospitalization and DEATH. Dead bottom, bad bondage. However, it can be done safetly. There are lots of good books out there. I would suggest picking one up and not relying on just finding knot sites out there. $30 can save a life. There are great books out there...i would suggest picking one or two or three up...you can get them off amazon.com by searching bondage. Midori creates good books. There is a new out out...Bondage for Sex.

You can also use silk ties bought from an adult store. I use these and when tied up properly, work quite well. Also using softer rope material from a fabric store works well too and comes undone with the use of finger nails.

Silk scarves are good to use as ties if you do not want anything too serious but, do want to feel restrained. Remember to use a slip type knot than can be released very quickly.

Midori's books are excellent as are Jay Wiseman'. I'll second the vote to get specialized info. It will help more than you could imagine. |

This was actually the first thing that popped into my head when I saw the thread in the forum- The local scout shop in Windsor has no less than a dozen books on knot tying. Being a hiker/backpacker, its essential to know where the local Scout shop is, but there's no reason its merchandise can't be converted to kinky purposes. For the record, they also sell ropes, camping goods, and various other products one can use for sexual pleasure. Please, don't get me started, or I may also get into things you can use from Home Depot, not to mention Canadian Tire, Fabricland, and (my personal favorite) your local fitness store. Remember, the resourceful freak is a happy, pleasured freak. |
