never with anyone i dated. i tried it ONCE with my first wife, and that lasted about 10 seconds. i was 40 something before i actually was able to complete the mission with a lady friend.

now my wife and i do it at least once a week.

My wife and I first tried it in our early 30's but did not work out to good for her (I was excited and rushed in to it)... we are now in our later 30's and have learned how to properly prepare the area for entry...

FL here...I was young in college when I first tried it. Never was against it, was just the first time someone had brought up doing it that way.

You know, this is one area where B and I have very little experience, and with good cause:

I have Crohn's disease, which effects my digestive tract (my immune system attacks healthy cells in my small intestine for no good reason, causing inflammation, and other not-so-fun symptoms). Most are well controlled through medication, but I do visit the bathroom more times than I'd like. I guess to me, my butt is more of a source of annoyance than pleasure.

I would LOVE to try some anal play, and I asked my regular doctor about it as I wasn't sure if the Crohn's would cause any problems. She told me that it could be risky, as anal could push bacteria into the tract and cause a flare-up (flare-up = hospital, or me on the couch in pain for several days not eating).

So, obviously, I'm a little tenative about trying it. I would still like to try some anal play that's not too invasive, and maybe after some time, if it works out alright, then working our way up to anal sex.

As for B, I wouldn't mind trying to stimulate his prostate or anything, but I think he has a little warming up to do about the idea first

I know my case is a little different, as most of you don't have to worry too much about anal play, but if anyone has any "getting started" suggestions, that would be awesome!

The one thing that I've always had to watch out for regarding anal play is cleanliness. I did not experience this type of play until I met Jay, however, it was always a curiosity of mine.

My issue has always been regularity- which as you can imagine, can come into anal play in a bad way. I think that its the most fun spontaneously, but if you really think about it- its better when planned because this way you can get prepped and more fun can possibly happen due to said preparation.

Also- even though I'm probably in the younger side of the spectrum for forum users, I must say that anal play wasn't even in my range of thought until a few years back or so. I didn't find it interesting until i entered college because my brain thought it was gross and then i found out that if done correctly, it opens up a world of possibilities.

Phoenix - how about starting with rimming, nothing goes inside your anus it just gets well licked and kissed; of course than can lead to the tongue being inserted in the anus but it doesn't have to...

An possible option for you, Phoenix, is using fingers. Very well lubricated inserted from the side and 'peekabooed' into the anal canal works wonders.

Thanks GG and Kathy, great suggestions! I think I'd be more inclined to try the fingers, I know B loves going down on me, but I think I'd feel a little uncomfortable with him rimming me. I try to keep very very clean, but as I said before, I do visit the bathroom a bit more often than the average person I guess I feel there's more room for "error", and I might miss something. Thats really the only one we use, that I can think of currently. To be more descriptive for the one, you rub the outer area of the anus with a lubricated finger tip in other to have it become more stimulated therefore making the entry more enjoyable.

Once this is complete, you take the finger used and push down on one side of the anus as though making a pocket or a tunnel to the side. This gives you extremely easy access and it works well using his penis too.

The whole point to this technique is to stimulate the anal walls to open and close as though contracting during an orgasm for a vagina.

I have seen ,but not tried yet, a butt plug. It seems to open up the canal in the same manner (through contracting the muscle and relaxation) as the finger does. It's normally smooth and could increase the pleasure as well of anal sex.
