Hey,
Mrs. Muffin just took a new job where she can dress up and look professional. I want to get her a garter belt, preferably the cool vintage type and she is agreeable. I am just wondering if any of the fine ladies on here wear them? I don't want the cheap "for looks" stuff, I want them to do their job and be comfortable for her. Any ideas?

Can you give me an idea of how a "vintage" one functions/looks different than a typical garter? I can look around for you.

If you do some research on the web, you will discover many sites dedicated to the old stockings and garter belts from the 50's and such. Most of the vintage type garter belts have six straps to keep the stockings straight and tight fitting. Here is a site I found with a nice one here.

Hum... I remember wearing a garter belt for real before there were tights and hold ups, to be honest I would not want to wear one for everyday wear ever again, for starters sitting down the straps dig into the backs of your legs, it has to be tight enough that it actually 'keeps' your stockings up, to do that it constricts your abdomen. Now wearing on for an evening of fun and games - sure, all day in the office - not on your nelly! But that is just my take.

Those are great! But I have to agree with GG that I don't know that any garters are comfortable for all day, but that's just my opinion. It's kind of like wearing a corset. It feels all nice and sexy, but it comes with restrictions in movement and I breath a sigh of relief when it comes off

I agree. Not being a huge "stocking" fan, no matter if it's panty-hose or thigh highs or whatever, I can't imagine garters being comfortable. They can be sexy for short periods of time, but, as Topless said, if they're anything like corsets, the shorter the time in them, the better.

Guys love the garter belts, but they are definitely a pain to put on and wear. If I'm going to wear some type of sexy stockings, I'd rather go for a crotchless body stocking.
