My gal has fallen into a rut wearing PJ pants and old beat up t-shirts to bed. Anyone have any ideas about how to encorage someone to try to dress a bit better for bed time?

Give her a gift card to Veronica Secrets or the equivallent of her neighborhood and GO WITH HER to pick out what to wear. If you don't appreciate it, she won't either and won't go through the trouble of putting it on.

If you want her to pretty up for bedtime, you're going to have to make her feel delicious when she does it. Let her know what turns you on without giving false praise.

Here's a little warning about false praise as well. I once had a boyfriend that told me I looked stunning in a nighty he hated. I took to wearing it quite often until he finally admitted he only said he liked it to be polite and it actually made me look fat. He lost a lot of bonus points until he went with me to buy a babydoll that he liked.

I know my wife wears one of my T-shirts with or without a pair of pj pants to bed, and only wears lingerie when we have something special planned.

I asked her once why she doesn't wear one of the many teddies etc that she has and she said one word. Comfort.

Personally I beleive it's not what she is wearing to bed but what is underneath it that is important.

I HATE HATE HATE wearing sexy nighties to bed. They're uncomfortable, often itchy, and only good for one thing: wearing for 5 minutes before we have sex before they end up on the floor . I'm most comfortable wearing comfy tanks and boxer shorts. I have many cute pairs bought at Victoria's Secret so I'm not sloppy looking, and I usually purchase more when they go on sale. My husband loves my cute little sets, and it makes him appreciate it when I wear something sexy as foreplay. Also, if we happen to have sex at night before bed, I might wear something sexy, but I always change out of it to my comfy set for when we sleep

Who says she needs to wear anything?. Yes, when Jay and I played, I tried to either wear something sexy or something every day clothing that he found sexy, but most nights, it wasn't the attire I had on that made us want to have sex- it was each others bodies rubbing together, or the smell of my hair, or me really wanting to play with him, and that turned us on... I tend to wear my skin and hair to bed, nothing more unless it's cold. I find clothing at all in bed to be uncomfortable, but it's fine for me to wear a nighty during the early evening if I want to feel sexy or turn Basil on.

I think it is extremely sexy when my wife wears one of my collared dress shirts to bed. And nothing else.

Im guilty of wanting comfort before sexy apparel. But there is a nice in between such as what previous posts said before. Victoria Secrets has that college style of boxer and cute little tank sets. It does beat the oversized t-shirts and hubby's boxers!

Maybe I'm just odd, but the frilly, lacy stuff doesn't really hold a candle to soft cotton for me. A comfortable, relaxed woman is a sexy woman. Warm bath, glass of wine, T-shirt and cotton panties, yow!

Far more erotic than anything a woman is wearing (or not) is an attitude of playful enthusiasm. That trumps absolutely EVERYTHING. The stereotypically "sexy" stuff can convey that, but I've always preferred the direct approach to any form of dress-up. A playfully whispered "let's fuck" turns any outfit into the hottest thing you'll ever wear (at least for the next few seconds).
