Hi All,

My wife and I just had our first child 1month+2days old. Her sex drive crashed throughout the entire pregnancy (sadface) but fortunately has come back in full force. We got the "all clear" from the doc yesterday and started oiling the machine, stopping every so often to coax the lil' guy back to sleep.

I was trying to find ways that we could make love that would minimize her use of abdominal muscles as well as relieving any pressure near the incision. I imagine simple things like leg placement will make a big difference, but we didn't give much time for exploring since we're both pretty tired all the time.

I was wondering if any c-sec'd mothers out there had any suggestions or anybody else had any ideas about this. I hate seeing her grimace during the love act, and I know (as it has when we first started) that it will affect my ability to keep it up if I know I'm causing pain.

Thanks all for your help!

-Luis

Even after your doc has given you the go ahead, there still may be some tenderness.

When you are given the go ahead for sex, you need to consider some other factors. For example, if your incision is still tender, you may wish to use a position where you have the woman on top or a side or rear entry position to avoid direct contact with your incision. You may also want to check into vaginal lubricants to assist you in making this experience as pleasant as possible. Most moms have some issues in the lubrication department, particularly if they are breastfeeding.

Remember that time and patience are great cures for sexual ailments post-cesarean and post-baby.

Found at: http://pregnancy.about.com/od/...m/qt/sexcesarean.htm

You may also want to invest in some "liberator shapes" to minimize use of her lower abdominal muscles for a bit. http://www.liberator.com/products_shapes_gamma.php

Talk to Ian and Alicia about getting these fantastic additions to your bed room.

We have the wedge ramp combo and they are fantastic!

Welcome Mexkn,
Hilarious log in name! Northern Nurse has given you some great advice. A c-sect mom myself, I have to agree that positioning is great, but having her relaxed is the main key. Knowing that your little one is safe and sound will let her relax all her bits and make it much more satifying for both of you.

Hi, Hope I'm not coming in a bit too late. I had a c section too. I really liked (and like) being in a semi sitting up position well supported at my back. NNurse recommended the liberator pillows, i think that would be a good idea too. if you do use regular pillows then make sure they are firm.

If she is really tender you could also try a pillow right against the lower abdomen. the pressure helps keep the muscles from cramping up. she just pushes against it when she wants to readjust or lean forward.

most of all take it slow and be good natured about it.
