I know there is a similar thread just involving vacations to the Northeast, but I was looking for a more general topic.

In a couple of years, B and I are looking to take a nice ski vacation, either in the US or Canada. We both grew up in Connecticut, so we had easy access to Vermont and New Hampshire, and other ski areas. Now, being stationed in the South, we don't have this easy access any longer.

We hope to go somewhere for more than a couple of days, maybe 4-6, where we can stay and ski. Preferably, we would like a "Ski in, Ski out" resort where we can simply ski down to our hotel and go in, and when we want to go out later, put on our equipment and ski out to a lift that is right there. This would eliminate renting a car, because you don't have to haul your stuff around, most places that I have researched also offer a shuttle to and from the airport, and I would think most places have a restaurant on site. We would love to hear about any ski resort that you've been to, especially if it is a romantic one

Any places you have stayed and would recommend? We are open to going to any part of the US, as well as Canada. Thanks!

We would usually go to Killington, Vermont, but we would always stay in a cheaper hotel. It made sense, because there would be 6 of us, me, B, his brother and his wife, and my in-laws. We can't wait to go on a ski vacation on our own

We have made a number of trips to the Resort at Squaw Creek. Truly Perfect. I can't recomend it more!

Also we made a trip to Sunshine Village in Canada allong with Lake Louise. Both had excelent central ski access.
