I've decided that F&E needs an RSS feed. Both for the forum and for the main site. One of the reasons that you all don't see me much much is because I can spend *HOURS* catching up on new threads and poking around to see what I've missed, so I have to exercise serious restraint to avoid making my kids F&E orphans . This is the exact thing that RSS was invented for. It would also be great for the main site so that I could get a little ping when there is a new product/DVD review or new product or something.

I agree. RSS is ideal for some things; however, it would be a lot easier to implement on the website than the forums, and only then if a) the website were not based on tables, and b) if the dynamic content was a little more dynamic.

That's a great suggestion, though, and it's certainly something worth looking into.

Well I AM a web developer for a living so any time Freddy and Eddy want their site converted to a CSS-based layout and maybe some dynamic content added....

However, the site being based on tables or being dynamic or not doesn't have anything to do with it being able to feed an RSS. This is also something I can assist if they don't already have a resource.

Well, my point with the dynamic "stuff" was that an RSS feed is much handier when it's fed by something in some kind of format rather than it pinging every time the tiniest thing changes.

I know I hate the feeds that are constantly pinging my aggregator with no real new material; it's just that the webmaster changed one little thing. I hate doing it to subscribers of my blog, too.

And the tables? Well, I've been asking Freddy for over a YEAR now to let me convert the tables to CSS, and he hasn't, so good luck with that. I might not get paid for anything I've ever done, but I hope I could manage a style sheet and an RSS feed. If he ever let me.
