Friends, in the spirit of sharing and discovery that this wonderful site is about, I'm proposing a little thread to share knowledge. Don't get too excited, I mean about using this beautiful message board system. Could be a case of the blind leading the blind but just sometimes I get brave and play with the technology and make tiny discoveries that make my life easier.

Bear in mind, you're talking to a gal who never mastered the VCR, thank goodness that technology is on the way out...I'm now a self confessed "geek" in training. Anyway if you discover a way of doing things on this board that you think we all need to know about, please tell us!

Changing the space available to write your post. My first discovery that will help reduce squinting.

When you make a post you'll notice that you have a narrow space in which to type your text. If you'd like this space to be bigger:

Click on My Home (top right hand corner of your screen)

Scroll down to Main Configuration

Click on the Edit button next to Display Preferences

Scroll down to Text Area Rows? Type in the number or rows you'd like, I'm using 15 at the moment.

Scroll down and click Submit to save the changes

Voila! You'll have more room to write. Happy Posting!

Another tip is that, unlike lots of other sites, we allow you to post an avatar (picture that gets displayed next to your name) immediately. Go to "My Home" at the top and go to Main Configuration, clicking on Edit next to "Personal Information." Scroll down to specify the location of your avatar and click "Submit."
